News Update
16th May 2008 - Collection yields hundreds of returns
It is a pleasure to report that many hundreds of Paulton residents have taken their time and effort to complete and return their questionnaires and the Steering Group are hopeful of a large and representative return in order to really make a report and relevent Action Plan for the future of Paulton available by the turn of the year.
Work has commenced on ensuring that the returned questionnaires remain anonymous so that residents can be confident that their views are represented but not attributable.
For those of you that have filled in the contact sheets either to enter for the prize draw, or to be kept in touch and to volunteer for various schemes a major Thank You. All contact sheets received have been removed from the questionnaires.
We are yet to commence the analysis of the returns but rest assured we welcome comments of all kinds and if you have yet to complete your questionnaire please take the time to do so. Your views, positive oor negative matter!
It is shocking to report that there has been cases of abusive lanuage aimed at our collectors and we would ask that residents so inclined remember - THE COLLECTORS ARE FELLOW PAULTON RESIDENTS AND YOUR NEIGHBOURS. People who give their time freely for the betterment of our community.
We have received some significant returns, such as this one, which is a detatched front page......
Whillst we are sad thart the respondent felt that this was the only way to make their point - IT IS A VALID RETURN - their contribution is valuable as it expresses an opinion, which is far more valid than those that do NOT make a return. So again please accept our thanks for the effort made to make a point.
Please remember, as is mentioned within the questionnaire and throughout the web site, the Community/Parish Plan process is from a government initiative to improve the voice and future of the rural community and has been designed and delivered by paulton residents who have clearly identified themselves. They are working with a very small grant of money to deliver real change at a time when the historical industry of Paulton has disappeared and is part of a process to inform local government of the changes and desires of the community that they must work to provide a vibrant and engaged Paulton for the future. A future in which residents of all ages can feel safe, confident and happy. A future which will enanble current and future generations to want to come and live here.
